You're invited! I have this long-term dream of creating a drop-in community self-care centre. A quiet, reflective space with a variety of stations that allows us to engage in self-care individually and collectively, without having to buy supplies, make space for those supplies and clean up everything after ourselves. Until that space becomes a reality I'm hosting pop-up events!
These events are drop-in, no registration required. Come anytime, stay for as short or as long as you like and choose whatever practice appeals to you most. There will be four stations at this first pop-up:
Each station will have materials and suggestions for how to engage with them. Children who are capable of focussing on their own art or activity without a lot of caregiver supervision are welcome to attend.
There is no cost to attend, but I'll gratefully accept donations to help cover the cost of the room rental. Donations can be made with cash or by e-transfer. The View Room at Bethlehem Centre is cozy and has a beautiful view toward Westwood Lake. Bethlehem Centre is located at 2371 Arbot Rd, Nanaimo and also has a lovely outdoor labyrinth, a bonus body-based, mindfulness practice. Hope to see you on the 28th!
